MTA became ecological!?

These days, MTA, the subway company in NYC, announced that they enabled us to refill a monthly pass.
(MTA is like Tokyo Metro in Japan.)
最近、ニューヨークの地下鉄会社であるMTAが一ヶ月定期のチャージ開始を発表しました
(MTAは日本でいう東京メトロね)

How was it used to be?
We could refill a refill card but not a monthly pass.
We had to buy a new card and threw away the old one.
それまではどうだったかと言うと、
チャージ用のカードはできたけど、一ヶ月定期は使い捨て。
新しいのを買っては古いのを捨てるっていう感じでした。

For Japanese people, this sounds like not ECO, doesn't this?
It's said that Japan is more sensitive about ecology than any other countries.
I believe that is TRUE!!
日本人にとってはエコじゃないなあって感じだよね？
日本は世界でも有数のエコに気を遣う国だと言われているけど、それは正解だと思う。

However this time, even the American company changed its mind.
でも今回は、アメリカの企業でも考え方を改めたみたい。

They started refilling a monthly pass so that we never threw it away every month!
Yeeeyyyy!!
毎月みんながカードを捨てないように、一ヶ月定期もチャージできるようにしたよ！
いえーい笑！

I won't feel guilty about this anymore;)
もうこれで罪悪感に苛まれることないね。
